Loan winger Anthony Georgiou was pleased that the Blues maintained their unbeaten record but admitted Saturday’s 0-0 home draw with Doncaster Rovers was frustrating.
Town are now unbeaten in eight league games, the final match of last season at home to Leeds and this year's seven League One games.
Georgiou, on loan with the Blues from Tottenham until January, came on as a 63rd minute sub against the South Yorkshiremen, his fourth game for Town, all from the bench.
"It was good that we kept our unbeaten run going but we are going into every game looking to win so that is a little bit frustrating,” he said.
"We’ve got such amazing support that it drives us on and gives us an extra edge at home, so we’re especially keen to win for the fans.
"But you have to give credit to Doncaster because they made it very difficult for us and dominated possession for spells.”
Despite the dropped points, the 22-year-old is happy with the Blues’ current position and says he is determined to make his mark while at Portman Road.
"Every time I’ve come on in a game the manager has asked me to do what I do — try to get on the ball and make things happen,” he added.
"We were top of the league before the international break and we still have a game in hand, so overall we’re in a good place and everyone is feeling very confident.
"I’m desperate to be involved in every game and to help the team. When I play I think I can help the team so I’ve got to take my chance when it comes along.”
Saturday’s stalemate saw Town take their run of clean sheets to three on the trot in League One, which the Cyprus international says was a positive to take from the game, particularly with Rovers having been perhaps the best side the Blues have faced this season.
"A clean sheet is always good,” he continued. "We stayed solid at the back and we created a few chances as well.
"Doncaster kept the ball very well and they moved it quite well. They had some good players.
"I think that’s my fourth game here and they are one of the better teams we have faced.
"I’m really happy so far with everything — the training, the boys and the form of the team.”
Georgiou had other options before deciding to join the Blues with the Town support having played a part in attracting him to Portman Road.
"I came to watch a game [the 2-2 draw at Peterborough] before I signed and I saw how many fans they have. This was always the main move for me.
"Whenever I get a chance I’m happy and I try to show what I can do and hopefully I’ll be able to work my way into the team.
"There are so many games — three this week — and I think rotating the players is the best thing to do to keep everyone fresh. We’ve got so many good players here that the manager is able to do that.
"I try to take the ball and run at players then get crosses into the box. I want to create things.”
The Lewisham-born wideman says he can also play as a full-back, although is firm on what he sees as his primary role.
"My main position is as a winger, left or right, and while I’ve played as a left-back before I would say my main position is as a winger. That’s where I am at my best," he said.
"It’s a really big squad here and there are so many good players. If we have a training game — 11 v 11 — it’s a quality game.
"The other good thing for a young player like me is that there are a lot of good, experienced players at the club.
"I’m on loan until January and it’s all going well so we’ll see what happens from there.
"We’re second now but if we can win our game in hand we can go back to the top. That’s a good position to be in.
Georgiou won two Cyprus caps last week, taking his overall total to eight, and says he enjoys the international arena.
"We drew one [1-1 at home to Kazakhstan] and won one [4-1 in San Marino] ,” he said. "It’s always good to go and represent my country and play international football."
Doncaster’s on-loan Arsenal midfielder Ben Sheaf felt his team’s performance was worthy of a first away win of the season.
"I think we deserved the three points,” the 21-year-old insisted. "We dominated the majority of the game, especially the first half.
"I think we shocked them with how we could play and we were unlucky not to score a few goals.
"They were more in the game in the second half and had a few chances due to some sloppy play by us.
"We dealt well with their directness quite well but overall we’re disappointed not to come away with the three points.
"That shows where we’re at right now and one point away from home isn’t bad. We can take a lot of confidence from that display.
"We still need to get a clinical edge in our game and be more ruthless in the final third, but that will come the more we play together.”
Sheaf came closest to breaking the deadlock with his second-half strike which hit Tomas Holy’s right post.
"I thought it was in and a few of the lads actually started running towards our fans to celebrate,” he recalled. "The keeper might have got a little touch to it but on another day that goes in.
"For the last two years [at Arsenal] I’ve been playing centre-half so to be back in midfield and further up the pitch is nice. I like to create things and get shots off.
"There’s a bit of disappointment in the dressing room but to come to Ipswich, one of the favourites to go up this season, and take a point shows where we’re at.
"We’ve also earned our first clean sheet of the season and that’s a big plus, especially for the back four.
"We’re still unbeaten as well and we want to keep that going for as long as possible.
"It’s not something we have really spoken about — we focus more on each performance and taking one game at a time — but staying unbeaten is obviously a positive.”
