Bent Bid Denied - Ipswich Town News
George Burley has denied reports yesterday claiming that Fulham had had a £2 million-plus-Barry Hayles offer for Marcus Bent turned down. The Town manager says that has received no more bids for any of his players.
The Blues' boss said: "We have not had a bid for Marcus from Fulham. We have had no concrete bids for anyone.
"There has been a lot of interest shown in some of our players and you never know what may happen in the near future, but as yet nothing is close to being finalised."
As for players coming in Burley says the club are in no position to buy until they can sell, although he admits he may bring a keeper in on loan while Keith Branagan recovers from his shoulder operation.
