Stacey and Crook on Life's a Pitch - Ipswich Town News
Former Town full-back Steve Stacey and almost-Blue Ian Crook feature on BBC Radio Suffolk’s Life’s a Pitch at lunchtime on Saturday between 12 noon and 2pm. Host Mark Murphy will also be joined by Tractorboy and TWTD's Phil Ham, who will be at Highbury ahead of the game against Fleetwood Town.
Stacey, who was the first black player to feature for the Blues when he made his debut in 1969, has written a book, The Colour of Football, on his life and career in football, which also took in spells with hometown club Bristol City, Wrexham and Exeter City. You can buy a copy of The Colour of Football here.
Crook joined Town from Norwich City in the summer of 1996 before performing a shock U-turn and returning to Carrow Road before he had played a game. The former midfielder will give his side of the story.
Can Town continue their unbeaten start to the season? Can they win their fifth away game of the campaign? Send your thoughts on those questions or anything else to the Life’s a Pitch team via email, Mark’s Twitter or during the show by phone on 0800 141 2121 or text to 81333 starting your message with SFK.
