Blues right-back Kane Vincent-Young has been nominated for the Sky Bet League One Player of the Month award for September.
Vincent-Young, who joined Town for £500,000 from Colchester in August, enjoyed a hugely impressive September in which he scored his first two Blues goals, the winner in the 1-0 victory at Gillingham, completing a 25-pass move, and his brilliant solo effort during the 4-1 home defeat of Tranmere.
Nominated alongside the 23-year-old are Bristol Rovers striker Jonson Clarke-Harris, fellow forward Mo Eisa of Peterborough and Oxford United wideman James Henry. The winner will be announced at 6am on Friday morning.
Vincent-Young suffered a groin injury at the weekend at Fleetwood but last night assistant manager Stuart Taylor said he is expected back in training next week.
"He’s been in having his treatment and [physio] Matt Byard’s confident enough that he’ll be back not too far away," he said.
"We’ve got a break now with the four days with no game at the end of the week, so we’re looking for him to be back in for training next week.”
Daryl Murphy was the last Town man to win a Player of the Month award, at Championship level back in December 2015.
Perhaps surprisingly, Blues boss Paul Lambert has not been nominated for the Manager of the Month gong, having won the August award, despite Town’s September League One record of three wins and one draw.
Wycombe's Gareth Ainsworth, Fleetwood's Joey Barton, Graham Coughlan from Bristol Rovers and Oxford's Karl Robinson are the nominated quartet.
