Downes to Be Assessed Ahead of Accrington Trip - Ipswich Town News
Town will monitor the hip injury midfielder Flynn Downes suffered while away on England U20s duty last night over the next few days ahead of Sunday's live Sky game at Accrington Stanley.
Downes came on as a 65th minute sub replacing Blues team-mate Andre Dozzell as the Young Lions were beaten 3-0 by the Czech Republic at London Road, Peterborough but limped off shortly before the end.
"It’s an impact injury to his left hip,” Blues physio Matt Byard told the club site.
"We will see how it settles down over the next few days before we have a clearer idea of whether he will be okay for the weekend.”
Downes has been a regular fixture in the centre of the Town midfield this season, starting all 11 of the Blues’ League One games.
