FA Youth Cup Date Set - Ipswich Town News
The Blues’ U18s’ first round FA Youth Cup tie against King’s Lynn Town will be played at Portman Road on Wednesday 6th November (KO 7.45pm).
The Linnets, whose senior team play in the Vanarama National League North, twice came from behind to defeat Hitchin Town 4-3 away via a last-minute goal earlier this month to progress to the first round proper.
Last season the Town youngsters were beaten 4-1 by Watford at the last 16 stage of the competition.
The Blues have won the FA Youth Cup on three occasions, in 1973, 1975 and 2005.
Meanwhile, academy defender Cameron Stewart is currently away with the Northern Ireland U17s for European Championships qualifiers in Luxembourg.
Stewart, who joined the Blues from Linfield in the summer, played the full 90 minutes on Thursday as they were beaten 4-0 by Turkey, and again the whole match as they lost 2-0 to Italy today. The Northern Irish youngsters play the hosts in their final match on Wednesday.
