Former Town striker James Scowcroft is reported to be a target of Sunderland and Peter Reid. Scowcroft left Portman Road last summer for a fee in excess of £3 million but had an injury-hit season at relegated Leicester City.
Reid has long tried to find a replacement for the increasingly aged Niall Quinn and Scowcroft could be the man to fill the Irishman's famous disco pants.
It is likely that the Blues negotiated a sell-on clause when the Bury-born player left Portman Road, however, that was probably on any profit Leicester make on the £3 million or so they paid Town.
If the current reports are correct then the Blues would be unlikely to receive anything with Sunderland's offer for the 26-year-old also £3 million.
