Downes and Dozzell Win Caps as Subs - Ipswich Town News

Town pair Andre Dozzell and Flynn Downes made second-half sub appearances as England’s U20s beat Iceland’s U21s 3-0 at Wycombe Wanderers’ Adams Park.

Downes came on to win his sixth cap with 18 minutes remaining, while Dozzell was handed his ninth appearance for the U20s on 84.

Given their comparatively brief involvement this evening, it’s not impossible that they could play some part in Town’s FA Cup replay at Lincoln on Wednesday.

Asked about their potential inclusion at Sincil Bank earlier in the week, assistant manager Stuart Taylor said: "Without giving too much away, certainly if they play even 45, 60 minutes then [they won’t be involved].

"You have to look at Saturday’s game and look at the bigger picture and look at what’s right for the lads, especially when they’re travelling back as well.”

Meanwhile, young keeper Adam Przybek was an unused sub as the Wales U21s beat Bosnia & Herzegovina 1-0 at Wrexham in European Championships qualifier.

Elsewhere, former Blues forward Dean Bowditch, 33, who left Northampton at the end of last season, has joined Thurlow Nunn League Premier League leaders Stowmarket Town until the end of the season.
