Blues manager Paul Lambert has admitted that Wolves could recall keeper Will Norris from his loan in January but says he has had no thoughts about bringing Bartosz Bialkowski back from his spell at Millwall, although says it's possible other clubs "could come and buy" the Polish international in the transfer window.
Earlier this week, Lions boss Gary Rowett said he knew nothing of rumours that Bialkowski could be recalled by Town in order to be sold in January.
Quizzed on whether that was something he might look at, Lambert said: "I haven’t even thought about it to be fair. We’ve got two brilliant goalkeepers here in Will Norris and Tomas Holy and I haven’t really thought about that at the minute. I guess in a few weeks’ time I probably will.”
Bialkowski, 32, who is contracted to Town until the summer of 2021 with the club having an option for a further season, joined Millwall on a season-long loan in July, a permanent £900,000 move having broken down the previous month due to concerns regarding his knee which emerged in a medical.
Lambert agreed that other clubs could show interest in signing Bialkowski on a permanent basis in January: "They could come and buy, especially if he’s playing well.”
The Blues boss also revealed that Norris could be subject to a recall by Wolves in January.
"We never did have him all season, Wolves can have a recall in January,” he confirmed.
"They can take him back if they want to so it’s a dangerous situation for ourselves and the club.
"But hopefully that doesn’t happen. We’ll need to speak to Wolves as well and find out what’s happening there.”
Have they said anything about his situation up to now, the 26-year-old having made only three League One starts and four cup appearances since joining on a season-long loan in July.
"I think they’re happy with him,” Lambert added. "But as I said before, I’ve been around the game long enough to know that anything could happen in a window.
"People get injured, the Wolves goalkeeper could get injured on 3rd January and they take Will Norris back and it leaves us scrambling a bit, so we have to sort that situation out.”
Winger Anthony Georgiou’s loan is up in January and Lambert says he will also have to speak to Spurs about his situation, the Cypriot international having made nine League One sub appearances and three cup starts since signing in August.
"We’ll find out there as well what we’ll do,” the Blues manager said. "That’s the problem with loans.”
