West Brom on Hermann - Ipswich Town News
West Brom managing director Brendon Batson has confirmed that the Baggies' bid for Hermann Hreidarsson will make the Icelander their record transfer. However, as their previous highest was the £2.1 million paid to Bristol Rovers for Jason Roberts, that gives few clues to the actual amount.
TWTD understands that early reports of a £4 million fee are correct, although both clubs are remaining tight-lipped regarding the fee.
Batson said: "It's been well documented we've been focusing on several players and Hermann Hreidarsson is one of them.
"We've agreed a fee with Ipswich and have been given permission to talk to the player later today."
The Icelander is currently in talks with the Midlands side and looks likely to make the move to the Hawthorns.
