Stewart to Start - Ipswich Town News

Thursday's goalscoring hero Marcus Stewart is set to start tomorrow's home match with Leicester (KO 3pm). The striker was angry after being left out of the side playing Walsall last week, but this does not worry George Burley unduly.

The Town boss said: "I was a player myself and know what is like when you are not in the team.

"It is a natural reaction, it is a good professional reaction because you want to play in every game.

"But in this day and age it is virtually impossible to play in every game and as a manager there is no point in having a big squad if you don't use it and change it at times."

Debutant Matt Richards could well get another run out, probably as sub, while George Burley will decide whether to continue with Mark Venus or go back to the defence which did so well at the Bescot last week.

Undoubtedly Hermann Hreidarsson will get the biggest cheer, as he did in Luxembourg, after his refusal to move to West Brom earlier in the week.

Marcus Bent is not available due to the hamstring injury he picked up last week while Darren Ambrose is back after damaging his mouth.

Finidi George returns to the squad after picking up a dead leg when studded by Marcus Bent during the friendly with Celta Vigo.

Leicester have no injury worries, although youngster Matt Piper is likely to be unavailable as he is in talks regarding a move to Sunderland. James Scowcroft is sure to receive a good welcome from his old supporters.

Although the North Stand has sold out there are still tickets in other areas of the ground.

Squad: Marshall, Pullen, Wilnis, Clapham, Richards, Hreidarsson, Venus, Gaardsøe, Holland, Magilton, Wright, T Miller, Ambrose, Stewart, D Bent, Couñago, Armstrong, Le Pen, Naylor, George and Makin.
