Lambert Open to Dobra Deadline Day Loan - Ipswich Town News

Town boss Paul Lambert says he’d consider sending forward Armando Dobra out on loan before this evening’s 11pm deadline if a club were to show interest in the Albanian U19 international.

Dobra, 18, is on the fringes of the Blues squad but seems unlikely to play too much of a part in the remaining months of the season.

"If somebody came in for Dobs, then you’d have to look at it,” Lambert said. "He’s in the same kind of bracket as Idris [El Mizouni, who joined Cambridge on loan last week] with what I think of the two of them.

"Whether something happens later on today, I don’t know, but he’s definitely a good little player, Dobra.”

Town have 12 players out on loan, the majority of them youngsters, which Lambert says will benefit their progress.

"It’s for the development of them and the development of the club,” he said. "If the club’s strategy is rearing its own because it doesn’t have the money to go and majorly buy players unless we’d sold a few guys then that’s the pathway through.

"We have to get those guys playing in men’s football. One or two will adapt to it really well, and one of two might find it difficult, but as I said before, I think U23s football isn’t beneficial for young players.”
