Redknapp Rules Out Marcus - Ipswich Town News
Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp has ruled out a bid for Town's Marcus Stewart. Last week reports indicated that the former West Ham boss would try to add the Town striker to his already extensive striking options.
However, he has now ruled this out as his club can't afford the Town striker: "I like Marcus, he's an outstanding player.
"I think he or Ravanelli will be the top goalscorer in the league this year. I wish I could afford him but I can't."
Meanwhile Graham Taylor has said he will look to strengthen his midfield, adding that he is negotiations with a number of players.
Town skipper Matt Holland is amongst a number of players to have been linked with the role at Villa and Taylor watched him impress as Town beat Walsall on the opening day of the Nationwide League season.
