Dozzell Signs for Canvey - Ipswich Town News

Former Town midfielder Jason Dozzell has signed for Essex Ryman League side Canvey Island, joining a host of other former Town players.

Dozzell was asked to join Canvey last season but he was very short of fitness. He was involved in pre-season training but was still unsure how the toe injury which ended his league career might stand up to a serious challenge.

Earlier this summer told TWTD: "I've trained and the foot has been OK, but it is yet to take a strong tackle, so we'll have to see how that goes. I'm going to be involved in some pre-season games with Canvey and that will be the test."

Clearly the toe has stood up to the rigours of a few non-league challenges and Dozzell made his debut as a sub for skipper Neil Gregory on Saturday in Canvey's 2-1 loss at Hayes.

In addition to Dozzell and Neil Gregory, Canvey also include John Kennedy, David Gregory and former Town youth player Adam Miller in their squad and are coached by Glenn Pennyfather.
