Stewart WBA Link Again - Ipswich Town News

Newspapers in Birmingham appear to be talking up Marcus Stewart as a target of West Brom manager Gary Megson. The Stewart story has cropped up a couple of times this summer without ever really gaining any credence.

Asked about the Town striker Megson is said to have refused to confirm or deny interest: "We're getting linked with a different player every day. I don't comment on players I am trying to sign, for obvious reasons.

"But I don't think it is a secret that we are looking to bring players in and hopefully there will be a couple of new faces here soon."

Last week Hermann Hreidarsson turned down a move to the Hawthorns, preferring to stay in Suffolk. However, the Midlands club are known to be low payers and are unlikely to be able to match Stewart's current earnings at Portman Road.

Elsewhere Villa interest in Matt Holland's Irish team-mate Mark Kinsella has been confirmed by Charlton.
