Holland on Villa Offer - Ipswich Town News

Matt Holland has commented on turning down Aston Villa's personal terms. The Town skipper hints that the deal still has some way to go and he may yet become a Villa player, but only if the money is right.

He told his site (http://www.matthollandweb.com): "I have to explore the avenue of joining Villa as my present club, Ipswich, have agreed to sell me, but if I do move it has to be acceptable financially.

"Now I have never based my life decisions on money but I did not seek to leave Ipswich Town and was looking forward to helping the club back into the Premier League.

"I understand that the club need to sell me to raise money after the disappointment of relegation but Villa's personal terms were not good enough.

"This does not mean that the transfer will not happen. At present I do not know and because I have not instigated any of this, I am reacting to events rather than directing them. However, for me to leave Ipswich Town, Villa will have to improve their offer to me."

TWTD believes that Villa offered Holland much the same deal as he is already on at Town.
