WBA Still Want Hermann - Ipswich Town News

West Brom boss Gary Megson says he would still welcome Hermann Hreidarsson to the Hawthorns if the Icelander decides to change his mind regarding his £3.3 million move. The defender decided against a switch two weeks ago as he preferred to stay at Portman Road.

Megson said after his side's 5-2 thrashing at Arsenal last night: "If Hermann wants to change his mind then I'll be pleased to hear from him."

However, that seems more of a hope than anything as the Baggies' offer of personal terms was thought to be well short of what he is earning at Town, Hreidarsson doesn't fancy a fourth relegation in five years and he is happy at Town.

With the end of the transfer window approaching Town continue to say they have had no bids although George Burley has revealed that there have been a number of enquiries.

The latest links include interest in Matt Holland and Marcus Bent from Fulham while Sunderland are again said to be interested in Marcus Stewart.

Although the transfer window official ends at 5pm on Saturday it looks likely that deals will have to be completed on Friday afternoon in order for player registrations to go through in time.

With players' personal terms also to be agreed it looks like tomorrow could be the day when the final bids come in before the window closes.
