Burley on Beggen Game - Ipswich Town News
Town manager George Burley says he expects a similar approach from visitors Avenir Beggen to the one they took in Luxembourg two weeks ago. Then the part-timers frustrated Town with defensive tactics, something Burley hopes his side avoid this time around.
The Blues boss said: "The league is always the priority but we want a good run in Europe so we will try and combine both.
"We won't be taking any risks with players who have any knocks but we have to make sure we progress to the next round.
"Beggen played with a sweeper and went man for man in the first leg.
"They never attempted to attack and I expect it to be similar again. We will need to be patient and not become frustrated."
Darren Bent and Darren Ambrose have been the stars of the season so far and another youngster Matt Richards made his debut in the Beggen away game.
However, Burley says that youngsters have to be integrated gently: "You have to be careful with young players and bring them in at the right time. You use them when you feel that they are ready.
"I'm not going to bring them in just for the sake of it. It is a matter of getting the right balance."
