Giffarna Sundsvall 1-1 Town - Ipswich Town News

Town's Swedish tour came to an end last night with a 1-1 draw against Giffarna Sundsvall. David Johnson's goal drought also came to an end with the recently goal-shy striker netting after 59 minutes. Town man of the match was debutant Jermaine Wright, which is heartening to hear. Trialist Jonas Axeldahl also had another good game, although there is no news as yet of George Burley bringing him back to Portman Road for any further trial. Town team: R Wright, Wilnis, Clapham, Thetis (Niven 28 mins), Mowbray, Brown, Stockwell (Johnson 45), Holland (Friars 75), Axeldahl (Midgley 71), Scowcroft (Naylor 68), J Wright.

Injury news is that Adam Tanner has suffered a recurrence of his knee problem. 25 year old Tanner was inhibited by the problem for most of last season and eventually underwent an operation in the summer. Tanner is worried that another operation my be required, although he is hopeful it is less serious. Others missing last night were Mark Venus, Jim Magilton and Marco Holster.
