Roberts on Derby - Ipswich Town News

Norwich City striker Iwan Roberts says Sunday's derby is a great chance for his side to prove doubters wrong after their recent collapse in form. The Norfolk club made a decent start to the season but have conceded three goals in both their last two home games, losing to Sheffield United and most embarrassingly Cheltenham.

Roberts, who has spent five years at Norwich, said: "If ever you wanted a game to come to prove people wrong, the people who are having a pop at us, this is that game. Everyone will be up for it."

Last time the sides met Roberts' goals won the day for City, the first a deflected effort off Town defender Manuel Thetis and the second a goal which he considers the best of his career: "I was really pleased with it - and I can still remember the build-up to this day.

"Andy Marshall threw it out to Paul Dalglish, who made a great run down the right before picking me out with an excellent cross. I brought it down on my thigh, had a touch and then bent it in.

"It was a great moment and one I'll never forget because I don't think I'll ever score a better goal than that."

On Sunday Marshall will be the man out to stop him scoring as the Blues seek to get three points which should see them up the table.

Former Town boss Sir Bobby Robson has been back in Suffolk helping raise money for Ipswich Hospital in a charity event at Seckford Golf Centre, near Woodbridge.

Robson's verdict on Sunday's big game? A 2-0 win to Town.
