Some Players Back Scheme - Ipswich Town News
Reports this afternoon indicate that some Town players have backed the club's paycut scheme. However, we understand that not all the squad have agreed to join the voluntary arrangement.
One member of the squad is quoted as saying: "It's better for us to take less money now and get it back later than put the club under intense pressure during the transfer window's closed period."
Last week all members of staff were asked to join the scheme where they would take a cut in pay of either two or ten percent, those earning above £90,000-a-year sacrificing the greater amount.
The money will be paid back next summer by which time Town hope to be in the Premiership with the money coming from player sales if the Blues are unsuccessful this season.
