Town striker Richard Naylor has now turned down a loan move to Colchester United. The striker was wanted by Steve Whitton who seems perplexed that a player so far out of favour should turn him down.
Whitton, whose reserve side drew 2-2 with Town in a friendly on Wednesday, said of Naylor: "We enquired about him, but Naylor said no. He said no to us, no to Barnsley, no to Peterborough and no to Hull. Naylor must be a long way down the pecking order at Portman Road, but he's said no to everybody."
With a number of injuries at Colchester at present it wouldn't be a surprise if the Essex club looked to other fringe Town players to fill in gaps in the short-term.
