Sunday Call for Holland - Ipswich Town News
The FAI have confirmed to TWTD that the Ireland squad would be required to report for their match against Switzerland on Sunday October 12th, meaning that Matt Holland would be available for the Sheffield Wednesday game the day before. The Irish face the Swiss on October 16th.
That means that Town will have just two players away in international duty on the Saturday and that Hermann Hreidarsson, away with Iceland, will miss the match against the Owls. Amir Karic has also been called up for action with Slovenia. Nationwide League clubs need three international call-ups to get a game postponed.
The Ireland squad, which Holland is almost certain to be in, will be named next week.
Darren Ambrose and Darren Bent have both been named in the England U19 side for the friendly with Yugoslavia at Kidderminster on the Thursday prior to the Sheffield Wednesday game, however, U19 games do not count towards the three international call rule.
