Town Sign Dutch Kids - Ipswich Town News

Town have signed two Dutch youngsters for their growing Academy. The Dutch youngsters will compete for places in the U17 and U19 sides competing in the Premier Academy Leagues for the first time. Town are going further afield for yougsters both within the UK and outside. There is controversy in Cambridgshire over Town attempting to 'poach' youngsters from under the noses of the local clubs.

Town have completed the signing of another youngster, Ashley Nicholls. The eighteen-year-old defender trained at the club as a youngster but was released when still at school. Since then he hasplayed for Suffolk and England Schools. Ashley has signed a one year deal.

Richard Naylor and Mark Venus have had their stitches out and there are said to be no complications. Naylor will take longer to get back to fitness after operations to both knees.

It is being claimed that Everton youngster Carl Regan (no, me neither) has turned down a move to Town in favour of Barnsley. Defender Regan was not offered a new contract at Everton and has gone to Oakwell on a nominal fee. Not sure there is any truth in the Town interest.
