Two Swede Blues? - Ipswich Town News

News of the Swedish centre-half that George Burley has made a bid for today with the player being named as Helsingborgs' Andreas Jakobson. Town have reportedly put in a bid of £1 million for the sweeper who looks likely to take over the Tony Mowbray role in our three-man central defensive line (whatever happened to Burley's claim we are going to play 4-4-2? No evidence of that so far is there?).

Town's other Swedish interest Jonas Axeldahl is to be offered a short-term deal to allow him to continue to impress the Town management. Axeldahl is available on a free and impressed for Town in the tour game against Gefle IF.

Town play Peterborough in a friendly at London Road this evening. Still out injured are Holster, Bramble, Magilton (awaiting results of toe scan) and Tanner. Venus returns, but is still feeling a bad toe. Let's hope the first team do better than the reserves who managed to lose 2-0 at Glenn Pennyfather's Canvey Island last night. Jesus...
