Worst Defending - Burley - Ipswich Town News
Town manager George Burley bemoaned his strikers' continuing profligacy in front of goal at Grimsby on Tuesday night while dubbing his side's defensive display the worst he can remember.
The Town boss says he was less than impressed with his back four's performance: "It's the worst we've defended all season. We are making it hard for ourselves and we have to take responsibility.
"When you don't take chances and you're weak at the back, it's a recipe for defeat.
"It was the same back four that kept a clean sheet in the last two games."
"We could have gone above halfway with games in hand, but you cannot keep creating chances and not put them in. If you convert just 50% of your chances you win games."
