Reports today claim that former Norwich manager Bruce Rioch is one of a number of names on the shortlist for the Portman Road manager's job.
Rioch left Norwich in March 2000 after a short and unsuccessful spell with the Canaries. Since then he has spent eight months in control at Wigan, a job he left in February last year.
His heyday as a manager was in the late eighties and early nineties with the likes of Middlesbrough and Bolton.
Arsenal were impressed and took him to Highbury. However, he and former Town coach Stewart Houston's spell with the Gunners lasted only 14 months.
The ex-Scottish international is a tough disciplinarian and is well-known to current Blues' caretaker-manager Tony Mowbray who was his captain at Ayresome Park.
Indeed, Boro fanzine Fly Me To The Moon is named after a comment Rioch made about Mowbray along the lines of if he had to go to the moon he'd want Mogga by his side.
If Rioch, seen recently at a number of Town games, is a target then Mowbray is very likely to be part of his coaching staff.
Another man who has watched Town of late is Ronnie Moore. As we reported on Friday the Rotherham boss has already been the subject of an approach by Town.
Moore saw Town's dismal defeat at Grimsby on Tuesday ahead of the Millers' game against the Mariners.
The Millers' boss is a mystery to many Town supporters but popular amongst those familiar with his acheivements at Rotherham.
Rioch's name is likely to be welcomed by very few Town supporters, not just because of his Norwich connections. His recent record hardly suggests he would be a man to improve Town's fortunes.
