Adams Talk Bid Fails - Ipswich Town News

Leicester manager Micky Adams has revealed that Town have failed in a bid to try to talk him into a move to Portman Road.

The Foxes' boss was earlier understood to be interested in talking to Town, but sees the Blues' unsuccessful bid as an end to the matter: "David Sheepshanks spoke to our chairman but was told that there was no chance that he would be able to speak to me," Adams said today.

"And as far as I am concerned that is fine and I accept it."

So, definitely out of the running are Adams, Paul Sturrock and Brian Talbot while Ronnie Moore may or may not have been approached by Town either last Friday or this Monday, depending on who is doing the talking.

Bryan Hamilton, Peter Reid, Bruce Rioch and Bryan Robson are all definitely interested in the job and David Sheepshanks is not ruling out a foreign coach.

French former Japan manager Philippe Troussier, Guus Hiddink and Rennes' Bosnian coach Vahid Halilhodzic have all been linked.

Meanwhile Tony Mowbray continues to stake his claim during his spell as caretaker-manager. We think that's just about the state of things.
