We're Behind Mogga - Matt - Ipswich Town News

Matt Holland says the players are behind Tony Mowbray's bid to become Town boss despite Saturday's woeful display at Reading.

Holland says the former skipper is certain be be a fine manager: "The players have enjoyed training with him. He is a good coach and I'm sure Tony will be in the frame for the job.

"If he were to get it the players would welcome it. He is in a good position. He knows the players well and they jabve a lot of respect for him.

"Tony will be a good manager, there is no doubt about that, but that was a bad result. The important thing is the chairman and the board get the right man for the job and there is no rush to do that."

The board are expected to hold interviews this week at a location away from Portman Road. Two other names mentioned in connection with the job in the weekend papers were Stuart Pearce and ex-Man City boss Joe Royle.
