Royle Confirms Interest - Ipswich Town News
Former Manchester City manager Joe Royle has confirmed that he has applied for the vacant Town manager's job. TWTD reported on Tuesday that Royle had spoken to the Blues while Wednesday saw a large amount of money staked on the ex-Oldham boss.
Royle had remained quiet on the story up to now but is quoted admitting that he has expressed his interest: "I understand there is a shortlist and I have applied for the job, I do believe that I am on that shortlist."
"I would be excited at the prospect of taking control of a young and exciting team.
Royle denied that any of the bets totalling around £80,000 are his and suggests the matter of the Town boss is yet to be decided: "We will see if it happens, but none of the money bet has been mine."
