Royle to Meet With Board? - Ipswich Town News

Reports today indicate that Joe Royle may be set to meet with the Town board on Sunday afternoon. The former Manchester City manager admitted his interest in the job yesterday and is understood to be on a shortlist of three.

Meanwhile another player has announced his support of caretaker-manager Tony Mowbray. Alun Armstrong, one of Town's more impressive players against Burnley on Tuesday, says Mowbray is one of the best coaches he has worked with: "No one has a bad word to say about him.

"He's one of the most positive coaches that I've ever worked with. Tony has an incredible knowledge of the game. He has a knack of putting players right in a constructive way, without denting their feelings too much.

"I feel that his appointment would meet with the great approval of the players, but if we want him to get the job it's down to us. This game with Gillingham could be his last chance."
