Holland on Royle - Ipswich Town News

Joe Royle admitted that he was a big fan of Town skipper Matt Holland this afternoon, and it seems the feeling is mutual.

Holland told the club site this afternoon: "Joe had a chat with a few of us today and said that he would be speaking to every player in the squad individually over the next week or two to gauge their opinions.

"He was very positive about the club, the players here and the future.

"He has been in the game a long time. He's been there, seen it and done it and he will come in to the club and shake things up a bit.

"I was impressed by what he said this morning and I'm sure he will go on and do a good job as manager at this football club."

Royle admitted at his press conference this afternoon that he had made two offers for Holland during his spell as Manchester City boss.
