Marshall Backs Royle - Ipswich Town News

Underfire Town keeper Andy Marshall has backed new manager Joe Royle after he too received a barracking from some fans last weekend.

Marshall has had some supporters on his back this season, something he sees as inevitable given his past with Norwich City: "It really is a small minority. I know how galling it can be because I'll always have a few people on my back, regardless of how I play or whatever I achieve," he told the Colchster Evening Gazette.

"But I can't afford to let them get me down, the same as the gaffer. Neither of us have got anything to prove to those people.

"My message to him is that the vast, vast majority are on our side.

"And their support is vital because I believe that together we can turn things round."
