Scales Linked With Town - Ipswich Town News

Tottenham defender John Scales is being linked with a move to Town. The 33-year-old is also reportedly being tracked by Portsmouth, but a move to another Premiership side would certainly be attractive to a player who has suffered from injuries and a lack of first team football since his move from Liverpool. He has made just forty appearances for the White Hart Lane club and is available on a Bosman. Town may look to Scales to add Premiership experience to the defence.

Mickey Stockwell has returned from his holiday and is looking for a new club. Stockwell has already been in contact with Geraint Williams over a possible move to Colchester United, although Norwich and Rushden and Diamonds have also been linked. The recently released Town veteran said: "It will seem strange, very strange not to be setting off again to start pre-season at Portman Road. But now I have to get on with my football life and I still feel that I have something to offer."

Sky will announce the fixtures they are covering during the fisrt half of the season today. Every club will have at least three apearances live, but Town are not expected to be overly featured during the first half of the season. Sky, for some reason, are expecting Town to be involved in the relegation zone during the latter part of the season and will be looking to cover games more then.

Season ticket interest continues to be high with queues at the ground of those renewing their tickets with others after application forms. A spokesperson for the Ticket Office said: "We would rather fans didn't phone in to see where their particular application has got to. They are all being dealt with as quickly as we can. Every call we answer can further delays."
