Sheepy No to FA Job - Ipswich Town News

Town chairman David Sheepshanks says he does not want to get involved with the the FA at present but that may not always be the case. Sheepshanks says that Ipswich is currently his priority, but that he will not always be the Blues' chairman.

Sheepshanks was quizzed on the matter at length by the national press at Prague airport on Friday afternoon and he reiterated his earlier statements on the subject: "At the moment I have no plans to do anything other than to devote my time to see Ipswich back on track."

He feels that it would be impossible for any individual to combine running a club with the position of chief executive at the FA.

Although he says he has no interest in the job at present he is passionate about the state of the game nationally and if there came a time when he was no longer Town chairman then he intimates he could be interested in a position with the FA: "I feel passionately about the game of football. I am almost as passionate about the national game as I am about Ipswich Town.

"I'm proud of this country, I'm proud of what we achieved in this country and what we can achieve in the future."
