Ripley: We Have to Be Horrible to Play Against - Ipswich Town News

Morecambe keeper Connor Ripley says League One’s bottom side have to be “horrible to play against” when the Blues visit the Mazuma Stadium on Saturday.

The second-placed Blues travel to the Fylde coast looking to build on the back-to-back home wins over Portsmouth and Cambridge with more than 1,000 fans making the trip with tickets still on sale and pay on the day available at the ground with no price increase.

Town were given a tough game by the Shrimps in last season’s corresponding fixture in February, the Blues dominating throughout but being restricted to a 1-1 draw, Wes Burns netting an equaliser with four minutes remaining (pictured above) after Aaron Wildig had given the home side the lead on 59.

Ripley, 29, was speaking following last week’s 3-1 local derby defeat away against Accrington Stanley.

"We’ve got Ipswich at home and I was saying to the boys in there, dust yourselves off, it is done, it’s done, we can’t change the outcome, when Ipswich come to the Mazuma, we have to be brutal,” he told his club’s official website.

"We have to be horrible to play against, people can take it however they want but I know what I’m going to do to win a game of football.

"It’s up to them now, it’s up to the boys out on the pitch to be as nasty and horrible to win a game.”

Morecambe are yet to win at home in the league this season having drawn two and lost three.
