Former Keeper Bevis Dies - Ipswich Town News
Former Town goalkeeper Dave Bevis died on Wednesday evening, aged 80.
Bevis was a young player with hometown club Southampton but joined the Blues from amateur Hampshire side Avenue in August 1959.
The 6ft 1in tall keeper made his senior Blues debut in October 1963, the first of eight appearances over the next two and a half years, before he departed for Cambridge in November 1966.
Bevis later joined Margate and Salisbury but lived in Suffolk having hung up his gloves, working in insurance for 30 years and as a courier.
