McKenna Hoping Two Suffolk Clubs in Second Round Draw - Ipswich Town News

Town boss Kieran McKenna hopes there will be two Suffolk clubs in the hat for the FA Cup second round draw with Needham Market in action away against Burton Albion in their first round tie on Saturday afternoon.

The second round draw takes place on Monday at 7pm on BBC2 with the Blues and Bracknell number 15, and Needham and/or Burton number 28.

"It would be nice for them,” McKenna said when asked whether he is hoping the Marketmen, who play in the seventh tier Southern League Premier Division Central, progress from their tie, against the League One Brewers.

"A good draw a good challenge against Burton. We enjoyed going there in pre-season, got a great reception and were very well looked after with good facilities, and [manager] Kevin [Horlock]’s done a good job with them this year.

"We wish them all the best. It would be lovely for Suffolk to have two teams in the second round, so let’s hope that they can cause a big upset and we can avoid one.”

Second round ties will be played over the weekend of Saturday 26th November.
