McKenna: Players Responding to TB12 Coach - Ipswich Town News
Blues boss Kieran McKenna says the players have really enjoyed working with body coach Chris Sousa from TB12, seven-time NFL Superbowl champion Tom Brady’s wellness brand with which Town recently forged a link.
TB12 is a holistic health and wellness company modelled on gridiron legend Brady’s training regimen with long-time body coach Alex Guerrero, the TB12 Method, a series of healthy daily habits based on five pillars: pliability, nutrition, hydration, movement and mental fitness.
"Chris is a therapist who comes in from TB12 who works with the players intermittently, he's not here all the time, he's tended to be in more for a couple of weeks block at a time, and the players really enjoy what he does,” McKenna said.
"He brings a slightly different angle to the therapy and treatment that the players receive, and the players have responded to it really well, so he's a popular figure when he's here.
"He's not here at the moment, I think we're expecting him in the next couple of weeks and he's an important part of things when he's here, and another segment of us trying to do everything we can to prepare the players as well as we can from a physical point of view, from a mental point of view and, of course, a technical and tactical point of view.
"We try and prepare the players and recover the players as well as we possibly can, and Chris is a part of that.”
