Stewart Linked Again - Ipswich Town News
Former striker Marcus Stewart is again being linked with a loan return to Portman Road. However, chairman David Sheepshanks says that no incoming moves are currently in the offing.
Stewart is understood not to get on with new Sunderland boss Howard Wilkinson and has rarely been involved since the change of manager. His latest appearance was in last week's draw with Liverpool when he was given just five minutes as sub.
Town manager Joe Royle earlier made an enquiry regarding Stewart's availability but last week said he would put his loan search on hold as the Blues' form improved.
David Sheepshanks says that he is amongst the many fans who have fond memories of the striker: "Marcus Stewart did a wonderful job for Ipswich Town and remains a hero here to many of us, me included. However, there are no inward loan deals in the pipeline.”
