Town skipper Matt Holland is reported to be interesting Graham Taylor and Aston Villa once more. The Town skipper refused a move to the Midlands over the summer and it would be a surprise if he had changed his mind come January's transfer window.

According to the report Taylor offered Hassan Kachloul to the Blues in the summer as part of the £4 million for Holland. This seems unlikely as there is little chance that this deal would have been accepted by David Sheepshanks who is only interested in cold hard cash for any players on the way out.

In addition Kachloul is hardly in favour at Portman Road after breaking a 'gentlemen's agreement' to join the club in the summer of 2001.

Holland recently spoke to TWTD regarding Villa's summer overtures: "My family are very happy here and that is very important to me, but it was only part of the reason. There was more to it than just whether the family were happy, I decided it wasn't the right move for me at the right time, for whatever reasons.

"People keep saying ‘Matt Holland, he'll never move', but it wasn't because of that, it wasn't the right move at the right time. There was more than one reason."

Back in the summer Holland's agent Jonathan Barnett said the two parties were "miles apart" during discussions and it seems a lot would have to change for Town's captain to consider a switch to the Birmingham club.

Wayne Brown, offered a free transfer recently, is reported to be interesting Norwich and Portsmouth as well as Watford, Wimbledon and Gillingham. Norwich were interested in taking Brown on loan last season, a move which was turned down.

Martijn Reuser was watched by Charlton manager Alan Curbishley last night as he played for Town's reserves. Curbishley tried to take Reuser on loan at the beginning of the season, prior to the Dutchman's knee operation.
