Royle Not Too Downcast - Ipswich Town News
Town manager Joe Royle was not too downcast after his side lost 2-1 at Nottingham Forest feeling that his side were at times the better team. He also felt that Forest should have been down to 10 men much earlier than the closing minutes.
Royle said: "In many ways it was a good performance and at 1-0 down we were the better team.
"We conceded two bad goals and although we are disappointed at the moment we shouldn't be too downhearted. We have to pick ourselves up."
Royle says that Jack Lester ought to have seen a red rather than a yellow card in the first half in an incident with Jim Magilton: "We should have been playing against 10 men a lot earlier than we were. The referee didn't realise that head- butting is a red card offence."
Forest manager Paul Hart praised David Johnson for his match-winning contribution: "I'm thrilled for him that he's scoring all these goals because nobody deserves greater reward.
"He could easily have left this football club but he has turned down his career around. He's the one who has shown all the determination to get things right on the field.
"The way he is going I wouldn't be surprised in the least if top clubs are looking at him when the January transfer window comes around but nobody is going anywhere."
