More Paper Links - Ipswich Town News

According to a tabloid this weekend Town are looking to buy a striker. Villa's Peter Crouch and Crewe's Rob Hulse are said to be Joe Royle's targets.

The Blues have apparently been told that Crouch would cost £5 million and so are to look to Hulse, a player often linked in the past, who is valued at just £1 million.

There seems little chance that there is anything in either story with Town at present not being in a position to spend any cash.

Birmingham interest in Hermann Hreidarsson is again being reported with Steve Bruce having scouts at a number of Town games, including the away leg of the UEFA Cup tie in the Czech Republic.

According to today's report £2 million is the price Joe Royle will ask for the Icelander, however given that a fee of £3.3 million was agreed with West Brom in the summer, a figure nearer this mark looks more likely if there is genuine interest from the Midlands club.
