Pair's Return Possible - Ipswich Town News

Contrary to reports earlier today it is still possible that Matteo Sereni and Ulrich le Pen could return to Town. The two players are on loan for the season at Brescia and Strasbourg respectively.

At last night's AGM Town chairman David Sheepshanks told shareholders that agreements have been reached with the two clubs for them to sign them permanently if they impress. The fees they would pay have also been set.

However, if those clubs are not interested then either of the pair could return to Portman Road to complete their contracts, in Sereni's case a very lucrative contract which Town would certainly not be able to afford unless they were in the Premiership.

The Blues are paying a small percentage of Ulrich le Pen's wages at Strasbourg, however this is not understood to be the case with Sereni.

The Italian keeper made his debut for Brescia at the weekend as they lost 4-0 to Inter. He missed the early part of the season after injuring a hip in a car accident.

Le Pen has had a better time of it, scoring two goals in 12 appearances for the Alsace side including one at the weekend as they lost 2-1 at Lyon.
