Bosses Welcome Tie - Ipswich Town News

Town manager Joe Royle and his Morecambe counterpart Jim Harvey have welcomed the FA Cup third round tie between the two sides.

Unsurprisingly Royle is confident against non-league opposition: "No disrespect to Morecambe, and we will not take them lightly, but this is a game we should win.

"It is the second biggest game for them for years, the first was a couple of years ago at home.

"We are happy to get a home draw, but having said that our away form has been better."

Harvey hopes a cup run can give his side added experience as they bid for Football League status: "A little bit of success in the Cup is going to help our development because we do eventually want to achieve Football League status ourselves.

"It's a good draw. We met them a couple of years ago and it was a tremendous experience.

"We're a much improved side now and Ipswich have slipped a little, so we've got every chance and we're really looking forward to this one."
