Town Fail in Kuqi Raid - Ipswich Town News
Town manager Joe Royle's attempt to land Sheffield Wednesday striker Shfki Kuqi has failed. The Town boss was keen to sign the Finnish international on loan with his own strikers again failing to take their chances on Saturday.
Wednesday were willing to do a deal for Kuqi but only if Tommy Miller made a move in the opposite direction. At the end of last week Wednesday manager Chris Turner, Miller's old Hartlepool boss, had a loan request for Miller turned down by the Blues.
Royle says that something could still happen with the Finn who scored Wednesday's equaliser in their 1-1 draw with Brighton at the weekend: "I know Shefki well from when he played at Stockport and he is someone I would have liked to have got.
"Maybe something can still be worked out but that doesn't look likely at the moment."
