Scales Medical Tomorrow - Ipswich Town News

John Scales will be in Ipswich tomorrow for a medical. The former Liverpool, Tottenham and Wimbledon man, available on a free, looks certain to sign a one year deal. Scales said today: "I don’t want to say too much at the moment, but I will be in Ipswich tomorrow for a medical and to sort out a few others things. Hopefully everything will be OK. Ipswich are a good club and it looks as though I may be heading in that direction." Scales is likely to be a squad player rather than coming straight into the first team. Town consider him a bit of a gamble after injuries restricted him to just 40 games in his time at Tottenham. However, Scales himself is confident that his fitness is up to scratch.

Today's Jonathan Barnett quote: "Richard is devastated, absolutely devastated. He did not expect to be lumped on the transfer list by a home town club he wants to play for in the Premiership." The agent was speaking after a conversation with Richard Wright last night. Wright is still in America with his wife Kelly and son Harry.

Meanwhile some of the more daft members of the press are touting Andy Marshall as Town's next keeper. Surely no-one at Town would be daft enough to employ such a butter-fingered fool. Carlo Nash has once again been mentioned as a possible replacement for Wright should he move on.
