Hermann Staying With Town - Ipswich Town News

Icelandic defender Hermann Hreidarsson says he will not be looking to move away from Portman Road during the January transfer window. Hreidarsson has been watched by a number of Premiership clubs this season after turning down a £3.3 million switch to WBA in the summer.

Birmingham City have been prominent amongst the clubs watching him with representatives at several games while Everton are also reported to have shown an interest.

However, the former Wimbledon man says he has no intention of a move away from Portman Road: "I am not even thinking about the possibility of moving elsewhere.

"Maybe another club will want me, but I am happy here and the main thing is getting back to the Premiership with Ipswich. We have had a sniff of it — one good season, one bad — and we want more.

"We all enjoyed the experience so much and these are the times we want to recapture. The win against Watford on Saturday is a start, but we need to keep it going now."

Hreidarsson joined Town in the summer of 2000 for £4.5 million from Wimbledon. His current contract ends in 2005.
