Reserves in Action - Ipswich Town News

The Town second string are in action this evening at Charlton (KO 7pm) with Marcus Bent and Martijn Reuser continuing to make comebacks after their recent operations.

Reuser is set for another 90 minutes while Bent will get a half. Finidi George is in the starting line-up after his ankle problem and will be looking to impress any watching scouts.

Also on show is Justin Miller, just returned from a three-month loan spell at Leyton Orient where he impressed the Brisbane Road faithful a great deal. Joe Royle is yet to see him in action and Miller will be hoping to make himself part of the manager's plans.

Jaden Philogene scored twice and George Hirst once as Town beat Aberdeen 3-1 in their friendly at Pittodrie. Philogene stroked home from close range after good work from Sammie Szmodics and Hirst on 28, then Hirst added a second with a predatory rebound 10 minutes later, before Philogene netted the third just before the hour with Aberdeen pulling one back in the 79th minute remaining and the Blues having replaced their entire starting XI.
