Huckerby Linked - Ipswich Town News

Town are being linked with a move for Manchester City striker Darren Huckerby when the transfer window opens this week.

The somewhat unconvincing tabloid story claims that Huckerby is being lined-up as a replacement for Darren Ambrose who is apparently certain to leave Portman Road during January.

A sticking point on the reported Huckerby deal could be an injury crisis at Manchester City.

Joe Royle signed Huckerby from Coventry for £3 million in December 2000 when he was the Manchester City manager.

Royle recently stated that no deal has been done to take Darren Ambrose away from Portman Road.
